Phan Fa Bridge--then and now
Contrast the updated photo above with Ratchadamneon Avenue of today.
In the old photo, note the horse and cart and rickshaw in the foreground,
pedicabs going over the incredibly narrow Phan Fa Bridge, the Chalerm
Thai Theatre (left - torn down in 1989). Another current photo of
the area is here.

This is looking west. Note the fort in the bottom left--one of the last two remaining forts of
Rattanakosin

Phan Fa Bridge in olden times
This is a view of the Phan Fa Bridge area from the Golden Mount. The modern day bridge is where the small wooden bridge is. Any idea of the date?
Origin of the Phanfa Bridge -
November 21, 2007
From an article in Matichon by Anek Nawikkamun: From the memo of Prince Damrongrachanuphap, King Rama V's brother, the bridge was first debuted on November 17, 1907 when King Rama V returned to Thailand from his second trip to Europe.
