Left: A god says: Granny Nuam, I’ll have to eliminate your virtue by half.
Granny Nuam: Why is that?
Right: Because Yongyuth said you meant to donate your land to the golf course, not the temple.
On front page of newspaper: Yongyuth said he complied with Granny Nuam’s wish.

[Granny Nuam Chamnanchatsakda was the original owner of the land used to build the Alpine Golf course. On November 20, 1969, she donated more than 924 rai of land in Pathumthani Province to the Thammigaram Warawihan Temple. In 1988, the abbot sold the land. The land was finally sold to the Alpine Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Alpine Golf and Sport Club Co., Ltd. for 142 million baht.
At the time of the deal, Sanoh Thianthong was the Deputy Interior Minister in charge of the Land Department and Yongyuth Wichaidit was the Permanent Secretary of the ministry. Yongyuth was accused of trying to make the transfers legal despite it contravening the private selling of monastic land and was forced out of his current post as Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister on September 28.]
