It will only be a matter of time until Thailand again loses the position as ASEAN’s biggest car market to Indonesia: the archipelago is a much bigger place and growing fast. The danger is that foreign carmakers may be tempted to move production there. Should that ever happen, it will take time. According to a recent study by the Boston Consulting Group, Thailand beats Indonesia on almost all important metrics: competitiveness, infrastructure, business environment, tax incentives, labour cost and so on…
