Thaksin and the Fierce Animals

From Manager, January 31, 2013
Thaksin Shinawatra: The kindness I’ve shown to these animals… is a boon that enables me to avoid Kamnan Poh’s destiny.
Caption: He has made lots of merit.

[Among the animals are tigers, lions, bulls and rhinos. Thais use these animals to refer to bad and cunning people–particularly politicians.
“Kamnan” is Somchai Khunpluem, who was arrested in January after being on the run for years. Somchai is also father of the Culture Minister, Sonthaya Khunpluem.
So the cartoon suggests that Thaksin pays these dangerous animals to help him survive being captured and arrested.
Other cartoons that reference the Thai “Tigers, lions, bulls and rhinos” there are here: Wild Animals, Tiger-lion-bull-rhinoceros headed figures, and Tiger-Lion-Bull-Rhinoceros in Parliament.]
