Taking Care of Jack

From Manager, July 15, 2015
National Police chief Pol Gen Somyot Pumpanmuang: God bless you, Jack.
Policeman in the middle: Chief of Provincial Police Region 1, Pol. Lt. Gen Amnuay Nimmano
Policeman on the right: Police spokesman Pol. Lt. Prawoot Thawornsiri
Man in the purple shirt: former police chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang, nicknamed Jack
Caption: Yesterday, the police caught Jack and tied his hands at the airport.

[Refers to former police chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang who was released from Japanese custody after being caught with a gun at the airport. The public has been curious about the Royal Thai Police’s action toward his case once he returns to Thailand. The suspicion is that, instead of arresting him (placing him in handcuffs), they will protect him (bless him by placing a string around his wrist).]

From Komchadluek, July 16, 2015
Left: If you have thirty thousand baht you can only stay in Japan not more than four days.
Right: But if you have a small gun, you can stay for 20 days.
[Refers to former police chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang who was stayed in Japan’s prison for 20 days after being caught for illegal possession of a handgun and ammunition at Narita international airport.
The foreigner in the cartoon appear to be referring to rules for Thais who can stay in Japan for 72 hours if they have sufficient funds.]
