Vegetarian Festival in Had Yai - October 11, 2005 Mr. John writes: This is the Vegetarian Festival of year 2005 at Hadyai, Songkhla. There was a parade of Buddhas and holy items that Thai and Thai-Chinese people worship. It also had a miracle-performing ceremony that used sharp iron and other stakes being pushed through the cheeks of participants. The festival was organized on October 2-11 and also provided free of vegetarian food.
