Attacking prominent Thai women with sexual taunts

From Thairath, December 1, 2012
Cartoon title: Claims of a dirty, rotting dream in the Parliament
On the man: Prasit; Pheu Thai [the man is Pheu Thai MP Prasit Chaisisa]
On the woman: Pussadee; Democrat [the woman is Democrat party list MP, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pussadee Taamtai]

[Reference is to the words exchanged between parties during the censure debate on November 25-26. Sert. Prasit responded to Democrat Party MP Rangsima Rodrasamee’s criticism of the government budget for flood relief supplies by asking what she would think if he said he dreamed of sleeping with her.
Pussadee (right, with cockroaches coming out of her mouth–an opposition symbol of the Democrats) shot back by asking what would Prasit think if someone in the House had a dream of sleeping with the Prime Minister Yingluck.
The frequently vulgar and aggressive exchanges during censure debates have long been criticized for making Thai parliamentary proceedings unsuitable for young people to watch.
This exchange in particular was widely derided as sexual harassment which is banned in the House. Even the artist of the cartoon, Sia, only rarely criticizes anything connected with Thaksin or the Red Shirts so the inclusion of Prasit in this cartoon shows the depth of public unhappiness with the event.
As earlier noted earlier (The Burden of Being a Prominent Thai Woman–and Being Called a Slut) attacking prominent Thai women with sexual taunts is common.]
