Sawasdee the year of the rabbit

From Thai Rath, Cartoon by Chai Ratchawat, January 1, 2011
The poem reads: Sawasdee the year of the rabbit
The year of the rabbit is predicted to be favorable and hopeful,
The election comes with prosperity and money to spend,
[it is to be] the year of a smile on everyone’s face,
[it is the year] to kick the poverty and scarcity away,
[it is the year] to have strong mind and living away from [needing to see a] doctor,
[it is the year] to live sufficiently following the Father’s [the King’s] speech,
[it is the year] to have chairs stick to your button [meaning keep your job or position],
[it is the year] to have happiness during the day and night time
