Pre-Election Red Power

From Red Power, July, 2011
The headline reads: Assassinate Abhisit - Overthrow Yingluck
The Election Commission of Thailand has lost legitimacy
Plan to overthrow the monarchy? - Yim [red-shirt leader Suthachai Yimprasert] overthrows the CRES [Center for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation]

[This is an interesting issue of Red Power that came out right before the election. The headline is not saying that Abhisit should be assassinated, but that it would be part of a plot to stall or halt the elections.
This reflected the fear the pro-Thaksin camp had that some surprises were in store that would prevent them from forming a government. Considering the consequences if the Democrats were able to maintain the status quo after the election, for the Thaksin camp it was either form a government or immediately return to street protests.
This fear is reflected in the elaborate accusations complied by Thaksin's foreign lobbyists that the election was in the process of being compromised.
The main story in this issue states that even Newin Chidchob was predicting the defeat of Abhisit. The article predicts that Yingluck would win and would be able to form the cabinet. However, since the Democrats would not be able to tolerate this, they would "create a situation" (as the Thais would put it) before the election day that would include the assassination of Abhisit to overthrow Yingluck. The magazine outlines a number of conspiracy theories that could be used to block it from power.]
