The cover reads: The people’s eyes are wide open [can clearly see] the 9 dangers
[This is another example of the allusions the Red Shirt publications seek to convey--the image of a certain person appears in the iris on the cover.]

The headline reads: How Thailand will become, the answer from Romania

[Referring to the revolution in Romania that resulted in the execution of Nicolae Ceausescu. The threat of violent revolution is a common thread in Red Shirt publications. These go all the way back to when the People Power Party was in power and rallies were held that featured the now infamous threats by Da Torpedo (now detained on lese majeste charges).]

The quote reads: None of the debt calculations will release the United States from its huge debt burden. It is unfortunate that no matter how they calculate, there would be no way that U.S.A. can remove their great amount of debt.

[This is a perennial winning election issue for Thaksin: the idea that Thailand is sinking into debt.]

From Red Power, January 8, 2011
The quote reads: What I think is the easiest investment that will generate good feelings among the Red Shirts towards the government and the Deputy Prime Minister is a whisper that tells Mr. Abhisit to give an apology once the event occurred.

[This is key to another Red Shirt/Pheu Thai election position: that no matter how much money and populist policies the government implements toward the rural poor, they should not support the government. In this quote, it is implied that the monarchy (utilizing a behind-the-scenes "whisper") tells the prime minister to apologize for cracking down on the Red Shirt occupation of Bangkok in 2010. This allusion to royalty was unprecedented until a few years ago when both sides in the political turmoil began to use such language and allusions.]
