These go all the way back to when the People Power Party was in power and rallies were held that featured the now infamous threats by Da Torpedo (now detained on lese majeste charges).]

[This is key to another Red Shirt/Pheu Thai election position: that no matter how much money and populist policies the government implements toward the rural poor, they should not support the government. In this quote, it is implied that the monarchy (utilizing a behind-the-scenes "whisper") tells the prime minister to apologize for cracking down on the Red Shirt occupation of Bangkok in 2010. This allusion to royalty was unprecedented until a few years ago when both sides in the political turmoil began to use such language and allusions.]
