Reclining Buddha

From Thairath, October 20, 2011
Cartoon title reads: The man who blocks canals
Reclining man’s shirt reads: Bangkok governor
Over the arrow: Waterway to the sea
On the water: The suffering of people upcountry and around Bangkok
The sign the mouse holds reads: Thai unity in fighting the floods
[Despite the message of “unity,” this cartoon attempts to blame the Bangkok governor for causing the flooding that impacts the provinces around Bangkok. After all of the negative publicity heaped on PM Yingluck for her actions during the flooding, it likely this sort of defense will be made to blame the Bangkok “elite” for harming country people.]
