Political prisoners

From Thairath, January 14, 2013
Cartoon title: Everybody loves freedom
On prison’s bars: Political prisoners
On backs of prisoners in the right cell: PAD [People Alliance for Democracy aka the Yellow Shirt]
On backs of prisoners in the left cell: UDD [United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship aka the Red Shirts]
In the hands of man in the middle: Amend the constitution to constitute an amnesty act to mitigate the country’s conflicts
In the hands of man behind: To think differently doesn’t mean you’re bad. [referring to the call to allow criticism of the monarchy]
Phi Nooring: Give freedom to everybody.
Man mouse: Release the political prisoners.
[Reference is to the Pheu Thai Party’s attempt to amend the constitution in order to create amnesty which will pardon the so-called political prisoners who were arrested during Yellow and Red Shirts protests. Controversy over this stems from belief that the amnesty is aimed to absolve Thaksin Shinawatra.]
