Losing 20% in Corruption in the Rice Mortgage is Acceptable

From Komchadluek, October 10, 2012
Sukampol Suwannathat, Defense Minister, says: Watch out!! Whoever tries to watch ministers for mistakes… If you’re caught, you’ll be slapped in your mouth.

[This refers to Sukampol Suwannathat, Defense Minister and his interview with the press saying that in his opinion 80% of the benefit from the rice mortgage goes to rice farmers, while 20% may be lost in corruption which is acceptable. He later denied that he made the “20% lost in corruption” statement, and said that if he really said that he’d slap his own mouth. The joke is that the cartoon version of the Defense Minister warns people not to point out his outrageous statements or he’ll slap them.]
