Outdoor celebrations on HM The King's birthday
- 9:46pm, December 5, 2004 More on HM The King's birthday On the evening of December 5, tens of thousands of people stroll through the major avenues in the old city area, watching fireworks and the lights hung in all the trees. Left: The plaza in front of the old parliament building. From left to right: The parliament building, the Rama V equestrian statue, acrobats (some Thais 'make merit' by sponsoring acting or acrobatic troops), and ornamental stands with rice that has been blessed. The rice will soon be given out to the people for good luck. |
