From Manager, July 31, 2014
Gen. Prayuth to another Gen. Pryauth sitting in a small prime minister’s chair: The constitution authorizes me to dismiss you. Therefore, you should work properly.
On the big chair: NCPO President
Caption: If Gen. Prayuth becomes the PM… he shall be pressured by the NCPO.
[This cartoon criticizes the power and positions of junta chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, leader of the National Council of Peace and Order (NCPO). He is expected to be appointed interim prime minister by the junta-established National Legislative Assembly (NLA). Thus, Prime Minister Prayuth can work free from pressure since he also heads the military junta.
The Manager Group reported and commented on Gen. Prayuth’s absolute power and this resulted in a rebuke from the junta. More about this here: Manager Group weekly news magazine under pressure from the junta
Say what you will about the Manager Group’s ethics or biases, it has always been on the attack, and is often the only media critic at the time to do so, whether it be Thaksin, the Democrat Party, or now the military junta.]
