Mae Sod - the 78th Province after Bueng Karn?
After the successful pressure to realize Beugn Karn Province on 23 march 2011, those who live in Mae Sod alogn with all other boundary districts want to turn their districts (Mae Sod, Phob Pra, Umphang, Mae Ramad, Tha Song Yang) into Mae Sod Province by telling Mahatthai that it is ready to become a separated province - already have provincial prosecutor, provincial court, provincial land tranportation, provincial prsion, permanent custom and immigration checkpoint
Furthermore, they are goign to upgrade the major Tambon into the new districts to meet the criteria of beign the new province such as
Tambon Mongkhon Khirikhet => Mongkhon Khirikhet District
Tambon Ruam Thai Phatthana => Ruam Thai Phatthana District
Tambon Dan Mae Lamao => Dan Mae Lamao District
Even though Provincial Hall of Tak and Tak PAO agree in principal to upgrade these 3 Tambon into 3 districts as the first step for Mae Sod Province, the budget constrain has delayed the process ... so it needs a few more year to upgrade these 3 Tambon into 3 districts as the first step for Mae Sod Province - to be in line with Mae Sod new Economci Zone.
But normally there are at least 3 Tambon in a new district, so the above probably means that these Tambon will become the location of the district office then. Would be very interesting to know the full list of Tambon in each of the proposed districts. Interesting to note - Dan Mae Lamao district was already planned in 1997, but was then finally not created due to the budget saving in the Asian financial crisis, that planned district even already had the TIS1099 code number 6311 assigned.

Reason: fix link
I also notice some error to due the communication SNAFU
กิ่งอำเภอแห่งใหม่แล้ว => This should referred to "the new Sub-District" separated from Tha Song Yang District => Rerfered to the proposed Mongkhon Khirikhet Sub-District which already reffered and emntioned in Manager Daily aarticle Maew Sod Province
The other 2 Tambon to be ubgraded accordign to the proposal in May 2007 are
1. Pha-Wo/Dan Mae Lamao Sub-district - separated from Mae Sod District - changed to Dan mae Lamao in 2011 since people are mroe familiar with Dan Mae Lamao
2. Ram Rat Khiri Sub-district - Separated from Phob Phra -> this may referred to Ruam Thai Phatthana mentioend in 2011
However thjis proposal is DOOMED to FAIL since
1. it would reduce the number of districts of Tak from 8 districts + 1 Subdistict [Wanchao Subdistrict - probably upgraded to full district] to 3 districts + 1 Subdistict
2. since Tak province has 500000 men - separatign to form mae Sod province wll reduce the popularion of Tak by 300000 men from 500000 to 200000 men - ntyo good since the minimumm number of polpulation after separatign to the new province will have to be 300000 men
3. Ther is a polocy to reduce the number of Mahatthai Officers as proposed by Ministry of Finance so the idea of coming up with the new province will go against such policy
4. Strogn Opposition from Tak, Ban Tak and Sam Ngao dfistrivct have rendered the idea of separated province NULL and VOID sicne it requires consensus to come up with separated province ... and Bungkarn gettign Consensus vote ....
There is a proposal to create Nang Rong province but it has met with strong opposition from Private sector and Chamber of Commerce
In 1955, there was a movement to separate Bua Yai from Nakhon Ratchasima and separating Phutthaisong district of Buriram to create Pathum Thong Province but it failed after the coup of 16 September 1957 ... Now the attempt to create Bua Yai province have come instead ... since it has been grown up from the day one in 1937 to split Bua Yai district into 7 different districts today but most of Khorat people rebuke such a claim

Now, the movement to create Bua Yai province is back again after the failure in 1955, 1989, 1994 - using 8 districts including Bua Yai, Khong, Prathai, None Daeng, Ban Lueam, Kaeng Sanam Nang, Sida and Bua Lai since even connection between Bua Yai and Nakhon Ratchasima provincial hall is too far away [about 79 km] ... For the geographic point of view, it is reasonable. However, the historical burden is the main stumble block ... even they are trying to become the province of Khun Ying Mo (Thao Suranaree) without relying on Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) ... since all 36 districts need to have statue of Thao Suranaree - the heroine of the province to unify people together ...
Public Outrage toward the latest movement to separate Bua Yai from Nakhon Ratchasima - ONLY merchants, capitalists will reap the benefits from the new provincial hall at the expense of those local people who vote for such a foolish change - Look what happened to Yasothon, Amnart Charoen, Nong Bua lamphu, they never get the real benefit from being separated provinces
The latest round of Bua Yai province done by Ai Nopphadon's kin (Koson Patthama) who is PT man of Bua Yai
Here is the Khorat Nettizens' outrage toward the movement for Bua Yai Province - Khorat must Unite into ONE - Never separated even the Day of Judgement

Nakhon Ratchasima has just 32 districts instead of 36 districts as claimed by those who advocate Bua Yai province
Yah, it is about 82 km from Khorat provincial hall to Bua Yai and 94 km from Khorat to Nong Bua Lai and 117 km from Khorat to Ban Lueam... and guess who have insisted that they are going to run an errant between though route ...
Hmm Stick with Bua Yai indeed ... since that MP who runs Bua Yai district should NEVER repeat the same mistake as a Lopburi MP of Chai Badan district (from the same party as MP from Bua Yai) who advocated the separation of Chai Badan to create Phra narai province instead of Chai Badan province just to please his own egoism and megalomaniac of that MP
Maybe that number of 36 comes from the King Amphoe which were planned to be created in 1997/98, but then due to the financial crisis the creation of new districts was stopped. I only the know the names of these districts as they had TIS1099 numbers assigned already, but have no idea which Tambon were supposed to be included in them.

Now, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima has told those who advocate the New province of Bua Ya as Suranaree Province that this is such a sensitive issue to the point that it need a consensus from all 32 districts to say YEAH to the movement for separating Bua Yai with the other 7 districts to form Bua Yai province ... and he disagree that once they have form a separated province, they have to return all the statue of Thao Suranaree back and they have no right to use the name "Suranaree province" - taking the case of the failure of creating Phra Narai province by separating Chai Badan district out of Lopburi as the case to point
The movement to create Chai Badan province has been revived again by those PT men consisted of Chai Badan district, Lam Sondhi district, Tha Luang district, Sa Bote district, Khok Charoen district ... but need it necessary to create Muang Khom district as Chaloem Phrakiat district to meet the minimum quota ... as the movement to create Pasak Jolasit district has met with strong opposition from most of Lopburi people who prefer to stick with Lopburi as sons of King Narai the Great
However, the movement to create Chai Badan district has met with strong opposition from those in Khok Samaesan commune of Khok Charoen district along with those in other communes in Khok Charoen district since this commune is 10 km away from Provincial Hall ... No need to do any transaction at the provincial hall since all can be done in the district office ... ONLY those politicians who will benefit from the Government Complex which is to become the new provincial hall will reap the benefit.
There is even a movement to creat Pasak Jolasit district around Pasak Jolasit reservoir but nobody wants this new district at all - not even the local people in that area
There is even the movement to separate Don Pho commune, Ngiwria commune, Kong Thanoo commune, Talung Commune, Ban Khoi commune, Si Klong commune to form Don Pho district but local people say flatly NO to such a movement as those commune is 10 km away from Mueang district - better become those in Mueang District
Governor of Nakhon Ratchasiam calling for urgent public hearings for the case of Bua Yai province
Now, Thai Nettizens have pointed out that the movement to create Bua Yai province as well as other province is just to please those top brass bureaucrats who want to be provincial governors as well as politicians who want to control the whole provinces as their own political fiefdom without sharing power with any other politicians ... not to mention about the contractors, those capitalists ... and even Ai Jaruphongse want to see the big split of Nakhon Ratchasima into 4 provinces like Ubon - Nakhon Ratchasima province (Smaller), Pakchon province, Bua Yai Province and Phimai Province.

Those who advocated Bua Yai province are going to fight to the bitter end
I can understand the advantages for the local people of creating a Mae Sod province. The drive from Mae Sod to Tak (city) is horrible. But the other 2 proposals I do not really see the advantage of ...
Totally agree - and many Khorat people makign a clear point that Nakhon Ratchasima should have the same status as BMA instead of letting 8 districts to separate into Bua Yai province as advocated by those PT men and they even pointing out that ONLY politicians and their goons along with merchants and bureaucrats will reap the benefit from separating Bua Yai into the new province - getting more positions for Bureaucrats and MPs and wasting lots of taxpayers' money to feed those bureaucrat and MPs while merchants getting the benefits from the new port barrel investment - and this act requires Yinglux to sign since it involved with both Budget Bureau and Minister of Interior ... This issue has become a controversy to the point that so many people have no nerve to raise this issue.
