The Tong telling DPA to protect the deposit in bank accounts at 50 million Baht maximum as the measure to deal with the spill from the EU economic recession.
If the accumulated deposit premium is not enough to cover the deposit in bank accounts at 50 million Baht maximum, DPA can borrow from Thai government to cover the expense.

Now, we heave learnt that there are 7.3 Trillion Baht deposits in 60 Million Bank accounts in Thailand - DPA is trying to cover 98.5% of depositors
Better choose the right types of bank accounts to reap optimal results while maintaining Saving accounts that link with your mutual funds - for lower your rise, much of your mutual funds should be based on bonds. Short term deposits (less than 1 year) may help you to cope with the economic fluctuation ... Time Deposits - esp the long term ones will help you to be qualified for cheaper loans for the banks you have such time deposit accounts.

Low interests may compel you to transfer your deposits into life insurance - and the looming EURO crisis may force Thai government to lower the interest rates again
