I would dare to bet that Thailand has far stronger healthcare systems than Vietnam, Indonesia, or Philippines, and atleast on par with China, though this nation probably has much more risk-taking behavior. I wonder what the life expectancies would be if HIV/AIDS patients were excluded, I think this would give a more accurate picture of how "healthy" it is to be here in Thailand. Note that Thai life expectancy dropped from 1990 to 2000, showing a marked decrease due to AIDS. However, many advances in length and quality of life for AIDS sufferers have come since 2000, but probably not enough to skew the statistics in favor of Thailand. Vietnam is beginning to go through a full blown HIV epidemic, it would be interesting to see if Vietnam's life expectancy decreases over the years to the Thai level or not.
