Its definitely not operational yet.. they are still doing all the finishing touches on it.. No idea about the interior either..

Now, I got the news from Daiulynews that The New Southern Bus terminal will be opened in July 2007 since the commercial areas are nto done yet despite of the fact that 80% is done.
This terminam is private venture -> so Transportation Co.Ltd. may loss 10 million Baht revenue from the space leasing .... but save 100 milllion Baht from the construction of the new Southern bus terminal .... on 36 rai of land.

I think the construction is almost finished, but I don't see any buses yet.
What will happen to the old southern bus terminal? The old one causesd really bad traffic jams all the way to the Pin Klao/Charan flyover especially on Saturday evenings.

I have been to the new terminal for today's official opening. however, there is NO bus service as of yet and the ceremony was to promote the shopping grounds on site.
the whole complex is chilled by air conditioning, very bright and has lots of space. there is a large food court but not a single dish is spelled out in english - thai only. loads of shops for souveniers, amulets, mobiles, shirt and coffee shops - all in a temporary thai arrangement like you see it at MBK.
what appears to be the taxi stand is protected by a roof, but it does not connect seamlessly to the buildings which might become an issue on a rainy day (as it was today).
as it wasnt finished yet its hard to say much about the info screens and displays but it looked like they put a lot of effort into it!

I drove by last night. The lights are sure on, but I did see a bus or two coming out of the station.
Still most of the buses still operate from the old terminal.
Does anyone know if the old terminal will be closed or will both of them be operating at the same time for awhile?

Are there enough bathrooms in the terminal?
Is the arrival area big enough?
Will there be problems with taxis picking up customers infront of the door?

...is the floor slippery and many tiles cracked after 2 weeks of usage?
...do passengers have to take a shuttle bus to the public transportation center in order to catch a public bus or taxi?
... and will King Power Duty Free occupy all the hallways and departure platforms with their shops?
