DSI clears the Pheu Thai candidate

From Komchadluek, February 13, 2013
DSI Chief Tharit Pengdit: I can judge right now that this candidate hasn’t done anything wrong at all.
Boy, at right: Here it is! This is the root of the term ‘Saal Tia’ [‘Saal’ means ‘court,’ ‘Tia’ means ‘short.’ Together, the term ‘Saal Tia’ means ‘kangaroo court’. In the cartoon is also plays on Tharit’s short stature.]

[Refers to the police station construction project which involved many politicians from both the Democrat and Pheu Thai parties, including Pol. Gen. Pongsapas Pongcharoen, the Bangkok governor candidate for the Pheu Thai Party. When the scandal threatened to overshadow his candidacy, DSI chief Tharit Pengdit opened his office on a Sunday to give a press conference alongside Pol. Gen. Pongsapas. He made a big show of telling the press that Pol. Gen. Pongsapas was not guilty of any charges concerning the construction case.
The unusual press conference was ridiculed as further evidence that the DSI chief is only acting on on government orders.]
