Don’t investigate the generals!

From Manager, September 2, 2018
National Anti-Corruption Commission president Pol. Gen. Watcharapol: As long as I wear it around my neck, don’t investigate about who was corrupt on the procurement. It will protect me from getting kicked off the chair. [meaning “it will protect me from getting removed from my job”]
On the sign behind him: The National Anti-Corruption Commission
Caption: GT200 is NACC’s amulet

[Refers to the “inconclusive” investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on the controversial military procurement of the 1.13 billion baht purchase of fake bomb detectors (known as GT200) to use in the southernmost provinces.
NACC president Pol. Gen. Watcharapol Prasarnrajki is known to have very close ties with the junta–particularly Deputy PM Prawit.
All of this reflects the idea that the military has been able to cover up investigations into wrongdoing connected to the armed forces or quickly fire those who investigate too objectively.]
