This photo of Chumphon Station Yard taken by the photographer of Siamese State Railways (SSR) is now kept in the National Archives of Thailand … you’ll see the SSR rest-house near the station building.
BTW, Siamese State Railways has been in used until 1921 though …
Royal Railway Department staff dormitory on the left. => That’s SSR Rest-house for passengers when the train to U-Tapao (3 km North of Hat Yai) wat running only a day … Even after the overnight International express has been introduced on 2 Jan 1922, this SSR Rest-house has been in use for those who want to go to Chumporn as well as those who want to go to Ranong since Chumporn is a dropping point to Ranong. Sadly, this rest house has been closed after the WWII due to the devastating bombing of Chumporn station yard by Allied forces on 19 March 1945.
