You may be interested to also know that Yee Associates were also the original architects for the Rama VIII Bridge. Also: Mega-Bridge details - September 5, 2005 Moritz reports: I found a website (photos - press release) from the company in charge of the Industrial Ring Road construction. This company takes care of scaffoldings and also mega projects such as that bridge... 2Bangkok.com is pretty sure we coined the name "Mega-Bridge" for this project. It is interesting to see others using it!

panorama - November 22, 2004
This nearly 360 panorama (235kb) is not perfect, but it gives a good idea of the site. Starting on the left is the flood control viaduct, then the bridge heading off to the eastern seaboard. In the center is the hanging three-way intersection and to the right is the bridge to the Bangkok side. On the far right are the locks for the viaduct. A park is planned for the area under the bridge. Notes on photographing the mega-bridge

Wisarut writes: I went to make a field trip to that giant bridge across Chao Phraya as a part of the Industrial Ring Road and I found that the ideal place to take a photo is on the rooftop of the SV City building, Rama 3 Road. However, you need permission from the building owner (Sahaviriya Co. Ltd.) to get onto the rooftop. Another alternative is to go to Chatuchak Rama 3 Market - BMA weekend market in Chao Phraya. This one has a restaurant--very good for dinner. Too bad, BMA and Chao Phraya Express has not started the service from Sathon Pier to either Pra Padaeng or Klong Toei yet. Another good alternative is at either Phra Padaeng ferry pier or going all the way from Phra Padaeng to Lad Pho canal by paying 15 baht for a motorbike. IMHO, Lad Pho canal is the next best thing after the rooftop of SV City (and the upcoming PANO Project) since you can see SV City on one side and the cargo boats with containers to Klong Toei in the other side. When I spoke with a cab driver when I went from Rama 3 (New Chatuchak Market at Rama 3 Road), he said that lots of Korean contractors are running around the construction site of that bridge and shop at Big C Ratboorana which is not a surprise to me at all despite the fact that the lists of contractors are Japanese firms, except the local contractor of STECON. STECON has subcontracted their works to PYCON which is a shareholder of STECON so it is not a surprise that STECON employed so many Korean engineers...
