Another defaced poster - November 21, 2009
At the top is the Democrat Party logo and "Strong Thai," the name the current government program.

The rest of the poster reads: Stop illegal money lending debt [meaning loan sharks - extremely common throughout Thailand] - Register 1-30 December, 2009 at the Government Savings Bank, every branch - Call for ask 1115 and the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, every branch - call for ask 02 555 0555 - MP Atthawit Suwanphakdee [Democrat MP] to consult call 081 1359 9555 [This program is an attempt to outreach to grassroots people who might be tempted to take loans from loan sharks due to difficult conditions.]

Above is the closeup of the two smaller pages glued over the above poster. At left is the cover of Siam Rath over which has been written: Take loan - selling nation [one of the big Red Shirt points is that the government stimulus plan is plunging Thailand into debt - it was this same issue that first brought Thaksin to power]
At right is the cover of Matichon Weekly over which is written: Robber or Thief

Another defaced poster - November 6, 2009
The poster reads: I promise Thais must have jobs
Someone has suck on a sheet that reads: The people will die first
Another sheet has been stuck on that reads: 99 days - eat eat eat [the Thai word “kin” is replaced by "deak" which refers to cheating and corrupt behavior]
The rest of the poster reads: We believe we can do [it] - Strong Thailand - creating jobs for more than 1.5 million people

Defaced sign - October 21, 2009
The sign reads: I have promised Grandma Niem to take care of the elderly nationwide - As promised, we have done [it] - The lifetime pension project for the elderly
Sprayed on the sign are the words “creating debt”

[Grandma Niew was an elderly Ubon Ratchathani resident cited by Abhisit in one of his early speeches as PM. She had previously given Abhisit a small gold ring as a gift in 2007. She became a lightning rod for conflict as Red Shirts attempted to disrupt her highly publicized meetings with the PM. At one point, Red Shirts broke into her intensive care hospital room before she died to berate her for her friendly attitude to the PM. As a stereotypical Esarn grandmother, her friendly overtures to the PM has been used by the Democrats to boost the Democrat Party image in the northeast.
Quite a few of the Democrat Party signs around town have either been defaced or had the face of PM Abhisit punched through.]
