Red publications index

From Truth Today, November 20-23, 2009
The headline reads: 15 million - Confessing the sin - False witness - Dissolving Thai Rak Thai Party!

[This was part of a series of well-timed initiatives this month to keep the pressure on the government.
General Panlop Pinmanee (photo below), Pheu Thai party member and former vice chairman of the Internal Security Operations Command, presented two witnesses to the press who he claimed were bribed 15 million baht each by the Democrats to give false evidence that led to the dissolution of the Thai Rak Thai party in 2007.
The two were Sooksan Chaiyatead, former Pattana Chart Thai Party director, and Chawakarn Tosawat, former Pattana Chart Thai MP.

General Panlop is a colorful personality who was alleged to have been behind anti-Thaksin initiatives before the 2006 coup including a failed car bomb attack. He is one of several personalities in both the military and police forces who relish the spotlight and are called upon when controversial charges are to be leveled in public. This has led to his inclusion in the pro-Thaksin Pheu Thai Party and his role here in announcing the alleged discovery of the bribery.
However, like most of the recent initiatives by the pro-Thaksin camp, this failed to get much traction and the government is threatening to sue Panlop for his accusations.]
