[This refers to the gambits of using former PM Chavolit and Cambodian PM Hun Sen to lead the charge to overthrow the "aristocracy" led by Prem. It also matches up with our comments last month that the next round of Red Shirt agitation would target Prem (See here and here) Thaksin's comments to the TimesOnline were clearly geared to draw attention to the "problem" of the present Privy Council. Unfortunately for Thaksin though, neither the interview nor the initiatives by Chavolit have played well with the public and have instead given the government an opportunity to paint Thaksin in a negative light.]

After I finished the discussion, some man in the Banharn-led ruling government threatened Rakesh [Saxena] for 20 million baht. He paid by the cheque number 5003760, the Laem Thong Bank.

[This is in reference to the highly controversial arrival of Rakesh of the infamous BBC collapse. Many figures in the government coalition seem to have been involved. Both the PAD and Red Shirts would like to use this case to beat back prominent figures in the Bhumjaithai Party while at the same time they fear the Democrats are using the case to make sure Bhumjaithai stays loyal to the coalition or risk the Democrats involving them in the BBC prosecutions.]
